We'd like to remind voters in Walmley and Minworth today to vote in the Town Council by-election, which was triggered by the resignation of a Conservative Councillor, who moved away from the area to the NorthEast only months after being elected to represent local residents.
Our Winter 2018 Newsletter, giving information on recent activities, is here! It includes articles on litter and drug use in Sutton Park, the support of Sutton Coldfield residents for a People's Vote on Brexit, and an exposure of local council inaction with regard to concerns about the level of dog fouling in the area.
Research by the Liberal Democrats has shown that local councillors are ignoring the concerns of local people. Local councillors said they would deal with dog fouling yet they have failed to do anything to address the issue despite ongoing complaints.Read more

Dear Andrew Mitchell MP
Let's be clear. Brexit is proving to be a complete mess.
Mr Mitchell, do you genuinely believe that Mrs May's agreement is in our best interests? Do you really think that the Government's proposed arrangement is better than our current EU deal?Read more

The Liberal Democrats demand better for Britain. We want a country that gives our young people the best opportunities in life; that welcomes refugees; and that works with our closest neighbours to tackle global issues such as climate change and security. We want the UK and its institutions - such as our NHS - to thrive. And we're very clear that our vision can only be realised if the UK remains a member of the European Union.Read more
The Liberal Democrats have challenged Sutton Coldfield Conservative candidate Andrew Mitchell to disown UKIP's endorsement, after UKIP announced they would not be standing in the seat to give the Tories a free run.
Liberal Democrat candidate Jenny Wilkinson said:
"UKIP are standing aside for the Conservatives in Sutton Coldfield because they know Theresa May has adopted their divisive agenda wholesale. As Nigel Farage has said, Theresa May is now using the exact words and phrases he has been using for the last 20 years.
"Andrew Mitchell should make clear whether he welcomes being backed by UKIP or not.
"It's clear a Conservative landslide would be bad for people's jobs, our schools and the NHS across the West Midlands. It's not too late to ensure a strong opposition and a better future for our country.
"The Liberal Democrats are the only party that can challenge Theresa May, fight to protect our schools and hospitals and give people the final say on Brexit."
