Liberal Democrat candidates in the Sutton Coldfield and Erdington wards for the Birmingham City Council elections on 3 May have adopted the following policies, setting out their collective priorities to local residents for running Birmingham over the next four years.

  • Always put Sutton and Erdington first
  • Continue to improve on Birmingham's national average exam results
  • Retain commitment to keep open all libraries and leisure centres
  • Retain weekly bin collections
  • Improve recycling - collecting food waste
  • Coordinate street cleaning and refuse collection
  • Retain grit bins
  • Retain free collections for bulk rubbish
  • Maintain the road and pavement resurfacing programme
  • No increase in Council Tax in 2012 - keep council tax down
